Vanishing pets
I was doing a mission(the Trouble in the Woods one with Devona, pre-searing) and I died(chased after the leader, not such a good idea), my pet didn't die however but when i ressed at the nearby shrine, my pet was gone, not just dead, but he wasn't in my party list anymore.
Anyone know what happened? It's a bit annoying as i'd had him since I was level one and he leveled up the same time as I did. I tried the comfort skill but it says he's out of range. AARGH!! |

That's odd. I exited the game and when I restarted and logged back in again, there's my pet

your pet will also vanish if you remove charm animal from your skill bar and will return as soon as you put it back
if your pet dies on a mission and you dont want to go all over looking for the body just exit to a town and he will be with you the next time you go out |

Ah, that'll be why he vanished the second time(he did a vanishing act again and restarting didn't solve it this time). I removed the charm skill from my bar.
Kinda silly if you ask me, why would I need to keep the skill in my bar, I won't be charming another pet anytime soon so why have valuable skill space used up with a skill I won't use for a while. |

It makes sense for game balance, if you want to have a pet, even one that doesn't have any special attacks you need to sacrifice a skill slot. If they didn't require you to have that slot taken by the charm skill then rangers could have a full build and then pet on top of it.
